Summer

Gathering at the outdoor table and white linen dinner parties in the old barn, deer and wild turkey grazing in the pasture, fresh air, rolling green Ohio hills, bubbling brooks and blue skies.

This was a seed…

Knowing the truth - this was God’s plan all along - pure fresh real food - feeding us, keeping us healthy.

Developing a taste for pure fresh real food. Grinding my spelt berries into flour and baking fresh bread and desserts. Feeding my family. Feeding my friends. Feeding strangers. Gathering and giving thanks.

Harvest

The big garden was my outlet for artistic expression, arches and winding garden paths, scarlet flowers on teepees and towering golden Mexican Marigolds. Hard work, sweat running down my face, the smell of dirt in my toes.

My name is Mandy and I have been building this Olde World Bistro and Bakery since 2008. The vision for it was a seed planted in my heart long before I began this journey. It is the seed of the Spirit of Hospitality...


It started in the gardens, massive gardens. Vibrant colors, fruitful, nutritious, overgrown. What's for dinner? Look in the gardens. Planned all winter, cultivated all summer. An outlet for creative expression, a centerpiece for each meal. An abundance of food, waiting to feed the unexpected guest. Not knowing who would come but being ready for them. The goal was to provide real, pure, wholesome, heirloom food. Artisan cooking and baking became not only a habit, but a way of living. Along with a duty to provide sustenance for a healthy family, I had an awe for the natural beauty of the blossoms, vegetation and the bountiful nutrition. My passion for this lifestyle grew beyond just our little table. It grew into a business where the mission is to feed everyone who comes to my table with the same standard.


So, I welcome you to my table. I thank you for allowing me and my team the opportunity to place a handcrafted meal before you. I thank you for allowing me and my team to drop a bit of kindness into your day. I thank you for this opportunity to sow the seed of the Spirit of Hospitality.
